Using Our Gifts for God
And they ministered before the dwelling place of the tabernacle of the congregation with singing, until Solomon had built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem: and then they waited on their office according to their order. 1 Chronicles 6:32
Her fingers moved swiftly over the strings as her bow played a rousing crescendo. The audience held their breath as they anticipated the overture’s finale. It was a magnificent piece played by a master violinist.

We may not be violin virtuosos, but God has gifted us each with unique talents. King David recognized this as he appointed people to serve God in His tabernacle. The ark of the covenant resided there where God dwelt among them. Here they would worship and serve Him faithfully until David’s son, Solomon, built the temple. Through David’s kingly line, Jesus came and dwelt on the earth, and now the Holy Spirit dwells in each believer who trusts Christ as Lord. As temples of the Holy Spirit He is always with us, and we can honor Him with everything in us.

Have you ever thought about how you can use your skills to serve and worship the Lord? How has He gifted you for His glory and praise?
Father, thank You for the talents you have given me. Show me how best to use them to praise and glorify You in all I do.
